Job summary

Quorum Health Corporation is seeking an Outpatient Acute Care Coder - Emergency to join our remote team. You will assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for outpatient encounters, ensuring proper billing and compliance with AHIMA standards.

The role supports various outpatient settings and requires proficiency with 3M encoder and CMS guidelines. Qualified candidates typically have 1–3 years in acute care coding, active AHIMA/AAPC certification, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years’ experience coding in acute care.
• AHIMA or AAPC certification such as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, CIRCC, COC.
• 3M360 experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Review outpatient medical documentation to assign appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS codes.
• Match coding area to experience (Same Day Surgery, Routine Outpatient, Physician, Recurring, Observation, etc.).
• Review encounters and sequence diagnoses/procedures with modifiers per official guidelines and CMS guidance.
• Research EMR for additional diagnoses to meet medical necessity and ensure proper coding and billing.
