Job summary

Cable One is seeking an OSP Designer II to design broadband plant extensions and support construction, using CAD or GIS tools to deliver accurate, standards-compliant designs. Under supervision, you will read walkouts, update as-builts, prepare complete construction build packets, and collaborate with Technical Operations, Construction, and Engineering.

Qualifications include an associate degree and 5 years of related experience; strong GIS and MS Office skills; ability to manage multiple

Qualifications

• Associate degree and 5+ years related experience.
• GIS software knowledge: ESRI / Schneider design tools.
• Understanding of cable design.
• Familiarity with HFC and Fiber symbology.
• Experience with outside plant equipment, design and construction.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Design new and existing HFC plant extensions.
• Prepare base drafting and as-built updates.
• Interpret walkout information accurately.
• Deliver complete construction build packets on time.
• Adapt to new software and technologies.
• Create fiber splicing matrices and Lightpath circuits.
• Assess fiber availability and reinforcement needs.
• Plan major plant upgrades.
• Manage multiple projects with accuracy.
• Support broader company objectives and values.
