Job summary

Cable One is hiring an OSP Designer II to design broadband plant extensions and support CAD/GIS design processes. You will work with Technical Operations, Construction and Engineering to ensure designs meet Cable One standards.

The role requires a strong foundation in HFC and fiber design, experience with GIS tools, and the ability to handle multiple projects while delivering timely design packets.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent; 5+ years in outside plant design, construction or GIS preferred.
• Intermediate GIS applications using ESRI and Schneider tools per Cable One standards.
• Familiarity with telecom outside plant equipment, design, and construction techniques.
• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design new and existing HFC plant extensions.
• Perform base drafting and read walkout information accurately.
• Update as-builts as construction is completed.
• Provide complete construction build packets with design deliverables.
• Learn new software and adapt to new technologies as required.
• Create fiber splicing matrices and Lightpath circuits.
• Assess fiber availability and reinforcement needs.
• Design major plant upgrades; perform plant undesigns/redesigns.
• Manage multiple projects with accuracy and prioritize tasks.
• Support company values and collaborate across teams.
