Job summary
Cable One is seeking an OSP Designer II to design broadband plant extensions and support detailed drafting using CAD/GIS tools. You will collaborate with Technical Operations, Construction, and Engineering to ensure designs meet Cable One standards and deliverables are produced in a timely manner.
The role requires reading walkout data, updating as-builts, and producing comprehensive build packets while adapting to new software and technology.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent with related experience; outside plan design or GIS preferred.
- Familiarity with GIS applications and design software per Cable One standards.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Responsibilities
- Design new and existing HFC plant extensions.
- Perform base drafting and read walkout information.
- Update as-builts as construction completes and release area.
- Provide complete construction build packets with deliverables.
- Learn new software and adapt to new technology as required.
- Create fiber splicing matrices and Lightpath circuits.
- Assess fiber availability and reinforcement needs.
- Design major plant upgrades and perform undesigns/redesigns.
- Handle multiple projects concurrently with accuracy.
