Job summary

Cable One is seeking an OSP Designer II to design broadband plant extensions and produce detailed CAD/GIS design files. You will collaborate with Technical Operations, Construction, and Engineering to ensure designs meet Cable One standards.

The role requires an associate degree plus 5 years of related experience or equivalent, with strong GIS and CAD skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Remote work is possible for qualified candidates across multiple states.

Qualifications

Two-year degree and 5+ years related experience; outside plan design, construction, or GIS experience preferred.
Intermediate GIS knowledge with ESRI and Schneider tools.
Understanding of cable design and HFC/Fiber symbology.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Design new and existing HFC plant extensions.
Perform base drafting.
Read walkout information accurately.
Update as-builts as construction is completed and releases the area.
Provide complete construction build packet with full design deliverables in a timely manner.
Learn new software and adapt to new technology when required.
Create complex fiber splicing matrices and Lightpath circuits.
Ensure fiber availability and determine reinforcement requirements.
Design major plant upgrades.
Perform plant undesigns and redesigns.
Manage multiple projects concurrently with accuracy.
