Job summary

Sigma Technologies is seeking a Drafting Supervisor to lead a team responsible for Outside Plant (OSP) telecommunications drafting and design. The role blends hands-on drafting with supervisory duties, setting priorities, and ensuring quality and deadlines are met.

You will oversee daily activities, mentor staff, coordinate with engineers, and help optimize procedures. The position requires strong leadership, planning, and communication skills across telecommunication projects.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• 3+ years experience in telecommunications; supervisory/manager experience preferred.
• Advanced field, drafting, and/or design knowledge in telecommunications.
• Experienced with Outside Plant (OSP) overhead wireline drafting/design.
• Strong leadership, communication, and personnel management skills.
• Willingness to travel; ability to pass background and drug tests.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead daily drafting team activities while also performing the work.
• Set priorities, assign tasks, coordinate resources, ensure timely completion.
• Monitor performance and quality; provide project reporting.
• Support coordination with Project Manager and Project Engineer.
• Review procedures, standards, and documentation; implement improvements.
• Coach and mentor team members for skills development.
• Manage performance reviews and provide input on disciplinary actions.
• Adapt leadership approaches as conditions change; support team through changes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
