Job summary

Cable One is seeking an OSP Designer II to craft broadband system designs using CAD/GIS tools, collaborating with Technical Operations, Construction, and Engineering. You will ensure standards are met while producing detailed design files and build packets for timely delivery.

Ideal candidates have an AA or higher with 5+ years in outside plant design or GIS, strong GIS and cable design knowledge, and excellent communication skills. Remote work options are available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• AA degree or equivalent with 5+ years related experience; outside plan design, construction, or GIS experience preferred.
• Intermediate GIS apps knowledge (ESRI) and Schneider design software per Cable One standards.
• Understanding of cable design and HFC/Fiber symbology.
• Familiarity with telecom outside plant equipment, design and construction techniques.
• Strong MS Office skills and clear written/verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Design new and existing HFC plant extensions and perform base drafting.
• Read walkout information and update as-builts as construction progresses.
• Provide complete construction build packets with full design deliverables.
• Learn new software and adapt to new technology as required.
• Create complex fiber splicing matrices and Lightpath circuits.
• Ensure fiber availability and determine reinforcement requirements.
• Design major plant upgrades and perform plant undesigns/redesigns.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously with accuracy.
• Fulfill other duties to support company goals and values.
