Job summary

Cable One is seeking an OSP Designer II to create broadband designs cost-effectively while upholding Cable One standards. The role involves CAD/GIS work, collaborating with Technical Operations, Construction, and Engineering to deliver design services and maintain design/digitizing standards.

The candidate should have an Associate degree with extensive GIS/cable design experience and strong communication skills. Remote work is possible for qualified candidates in eligible states.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent with 5+ years related experience; outside plant design, construction, or GIS preferred.
• Intermediate knowledge of GIS applications (Esri) following Cable One standards.
• Intermediate understanding of cable design.
• Well versed in HFC and Fiber symbology.
• Familiarity with telecom outside plant equipment, design, and construction techniques.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Ability to solve complex problems and communicate clearly.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design new and existing HFC plant extensions.
• Perform base drafting.
• Read walkout information accurately.
• Update as-builts as construction progresses.
• Provide complete construction build packet with all design deliverables."
• Learn new software and adapt to new technology as required.
• Create fiber splicing matrices and Lightpath circuits.
• Assess fiber availability and reinforcement requirements.
• Design major plant upgrades and redesigns.
• Handle multiple projects with accuracy.
