Job summary

Cable One is hiring an OSP Designer II to create cost-efficient broadband designs while upholding Cable One standards. You will draft using CAD/GIS tools, coordinate with Technical Operations, Construction and Engineering, and ensure timely delivery of complete build packets.

Ideal candidates have an Associate degree with 5+ years in outside plan design or GIS, strong cable design knowledge, and proficient MS Office skills. Remote options available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

Associate degree or equivalent with 5+ years related experience; outside plan design, construction, or GIS experience preferred.
Intermediate GIS knowledge using ESRI and Schneider design software per Cable One standards.
Solid understanding of cable design with HFC and fiber symbology.
Familiarity with telecom outside plant equipment, design, and construction techniques.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word).
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Design new and existing HFC plant extensions.
Perform base drafting and read walkout information.
Update as-builts as construction is completed and release area.
Provide complete construction build packet with full design deliverables timely.
Learn new software and adapt to new technology as required.
Create complex fiber splicing matrices and Lightpath circuits.
Assess fiber availability and reinforcement requirements.
Design major plant upgrades and perform redesigns.
