Job summary

University of Colorado Medicine (CU Medicine) seeks a Provider Education Specialist with expertise in Orthopedics & Surgical Specialties to join our Audit, Compliance & Education team.

The role delivers coding and regulatory education to physicians, residents and learners involved in professional services billing, develops materials, and conducts sessions, while collaborating with CU Medicine and School of Medicine teams. This position supports remote work with flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or related field.
• Minimum of 3+ years of education experience (provider or coder education preferred).
• CPC or CCS certification required.
• CPMA certification a plus (must be obtained within 1 year of hire).
• Excellent public speaking and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, update education materials using Articulate, Panopto, Word and PowerPoint.
• Develop content related to coding and documentation requirements as directed by Federal and State requirements as well as the AMA.
• Provide educational sessions for Physicians, Residents, Advanced Practice Providers, and learners involved in professional services billing.
• Conduct follow-up reviews after training and provide additional training as needed.
• Revise and update education materials under the Education Manager's direction.
• Communicate with Administrators, Physicians, and Managers on documentation issues and training requests.
• Collaborate to manage new provider orientation, Relias accounts, schedules, reporting, and weekly training emails.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes and trends in healthcare.
• Perform other duties and assist with special projects.
