Job summary

Premier Orthopaedics, in partnership with Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder, is seeking a remote Coder I to accurately review medical records and assign ICD-10 and CPT codes in line with policies. This full-time, remote role supports clinical staff and providers to promote compliant documentation and coding standards.

Monday–Friday schedule. Ideal candidates hold CCS-P or CPC certification with up to three years of provider coding experience and familiarity with PMS and EMR systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• CCS-P or CPC certification preferred.
• Newly obtained coding certification with up to 3 years of provider coding experience expected.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding standards.

Responsibilities

• Abstract medical records to assign ICD-10 diagnoses and CPT procedures.
• Use PMS to document demographics and services for all cases.
• Coordinate with physicians to obtain clinical documents and demographics for coding and billing.
• Educate clinical staff on documentation and coding standards for compliance and accuracy.
• Communicate coding issues clearly with providers to support accurate reimbursement.
