Job summary

Rothman Orthopaedics is seeking a Business Office Certified Coder to review coding and documentation across services, auditing charts and addressing AR denials, while educating providers on coding standards.

The ideal candidate will apply independent judgment, ensure regulatory compliance, and help improve revenue integrity. This fully remote role requires residency in eligible states and a commitment to ongoing education.

Qualifications

• CPC certification through AAPC is required.
• Minimum five years of surgical coding experience.
• Orthopaedic coding experience is required.
• Knowledge of disease processes and reasonable treatment plans.
• MS Office proficiency and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Audits physician and non-physician provider documentation for compliance with carrier and billing regulations.
• Tracks and maintains records of audits, results, and education.
• Develops a pass/fail audit system and re-audit procedure.
• Reviews AR denials for coding issues.
• Provides monthly statistics on audits and trainings.
• Requests and reviews confidential information per state and federal regulations.
