Job summary

Premier Orthopaedics, in partnership with Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder, seeks a remote Coder II to accurately review medical records and assign ICD-10 and CPT codes in compliance with policies. The role handles demographics and billing data across PMS and EMR systems and supports clinical staff on coding standards.

This is a full-time remote position (Mon–Fri) with opportunities to educate providers and improve coding accuracy, ensuring compliant and timely reimbursement across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of professional medical coding experience.
• Experience in orthopedics, surgery, pain management, spine, or similar complex coding.
• Experience reviewing operative reports and assigning CPT/ICD-10-CM/HCPCS codes.
• Experience with coding audits, payer guidelines, NCCI edits, and physician queries.
• Current CPC/CCS/COC or equivalent certification preferred/required.

Responsibilities

• Abstract data and assign ICD-10 and CPT codes per guidelines.
• Use PMS and hospital systems to document demographics and services.
• Coordinate with physicians for clinical documents required for coding and billing.
• Provide education on documentation and coding to clinical staff; communicate coding concerns clearly.
