Job summary

MOFGA Certification Services, LLC (MCS) seeks a salaried Organic Certification Specialist (Livestock/Dairy focus) to review, inspect, and verify organic compliance for producers in the MOFGA service territory.

You will perform technical reviews of organic system plans, lead inspections, and assist applicants while supporting MOFGA’s mission and accreditation with USDA-NOP. Travel within the service region is required.

Qualifications

• Education or experience in organic certification or regulatory compliance.
• Knowledge of USDA-NOP standards, especially for crop, livestock/dairy, and processing.
• Working knowledge of organic or sustainable farming.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical reviews of organic system plans, primarily in livestock/dairy scope.
• Review inspection reports and communicate results to producers.
• Assist applicants by explaining organic standards and the certification process.
• Pursue adverse actions with colleagues and maintain auditable files.
• Conduct annual, investigative and unannounced inspections or residue sampling.
