Job summary

MOFGA Certification Services is seeking a Certification Specialist to ensure high-quality customer service and rigorous review of organic system plans, with emphasis on livestock and dairy compliance. This salaried position involves collaboration with inspectors, program managers, and staff, and travel within the service territory.

Qualifications

• Experience in organic certification or regulatory compliance, including inspections and auditing.
• Knowledge of USDA-NOP standards, especially crop, livestock/dairy, and processing.
• Working knowledge of organic farming, dairies, and food processing.
• Excellent written communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical reviews of organic system plans within livestock/dairy scope; communicate results to producers.
• Review inspection reports and communicate findings to producers.
• Explain standards and certification process to applicants; promote MOFGA services.
• Pursue adverse actions with colleagues as needed; maintain auditable files.
• Conduct inspections or residue sampling when time allows.
• Perform product material reviews with staff; participate in audits and accreditation.
