Job summary

MOFGA Certification Services, LLC (MCS) seeks an Organic Certification Specialist focused on Livestock/Dairy to assess compliance, review organic system plans, and coordinate inspections within ME/NH/MA service territory. This role reports to the Director of MOFGA Certification Services and requires collaboration with inspectors and staff.

The ideal candidate has organic regulatory knowledge, farming method familiarity, and is willing to travel for field inspections and residue sampling.

Qualifications

• Education or experience in organic certification or regulatory compliance.
• Knowledge of USDA-NOP standards for crop, livestock/dairy, and processing.
• Experience with inspections and auditing in organic systems.
• Strong written communication and organizational skills.
• Willingness to travel within MOFGA's service territory.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical reviews of organic system plans, primarily within the livestock and dairy scope.
• Review inspection reports and communicate results to producers.
• Conduct inspections and residue sampling as time allows.
• Assist applicants in understanding standards and certification process.
• Support MOFGA in audits and accreditation activities.
• Maintain auditable client files.
