Job summary

HonorBridge is seeking a Referral Allocation Coordinator to manage organ referrals, coordinate allocation, and support donor case progression across our NC service area. The role combines clinical knowledge with strong communication to ensure timely donations.

This night-shift, mostly remote position requires NC residency, three 12-hour shifts per week, and on-call coverage including weekends and holidays. Travel to offices may be required for meetings and training.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a healthcare-related field or 2–3 years of clinical experience.
• Experience with medical documentation, data entry, and electronic records.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA privacy practices.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Resident of North Carolina.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the referral and allocation coordinator on call.
• Review new referrals and assess donor potential via medical records.
• Monitor active referrals and assess changes in patient status.
• Collaborate with the Administrator on Call to support donor progression.
• Activate organ recovery and clinical staff as directed.
• Document allocations and donor offers per OPTN/UNOS policies.
• Maintain DonorNet documentation and UNOS feedback.
• Ensure confidentiality of donor and patient information.
