Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) to join the CAEIO program for the Department of State. The role focuses on implementing and optimizing databases across Oracle RDBMS ecosystems, including RAC and Data Guard, with strong emphasis on security and reliability.

Remote-first position with occasional onsite meetings in the Washington, DC area; U.S. citizenship and top-secret eligibility required. Salary ranges reflect senior-level responsibilities and government-facing operations.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship and minimum active SECRET clearance with ability to obtain a TOP SECRET clearance.
• Hands-on experience with full-life cycle implementation of Oracle 19c RDBMS and 19c/21c hub Oracle GoldenGate for production environments.
• Experience upgrading Oracle RDBMS from 11g to 19c and using Transparent Data Encryption.
• Experience writing custom monitoring reports for 12c OEM.
• Strong communication and leadership skills to guide and mentor team members.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain smooth operation and physical design of databases.
• Conduct performance tuning of indexes and databases.
• Review database designs and integration of systems; provide backup recovery; and recommend enhancements.
• Maintain security and integrity controls.
• Manage day-to-day enterprise security hygiene and remediation of CVEs/KEVs.
• Develop and enforce database administration standards; audit and modify data with SQL.
