Job summary

RegEd is seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) to join our hybrid team. You will own database incidents, monitor health, and implement backups, security, and performance improvements across on-premise and cloud environments.

The role requires 3+ years of DBA experience and strong T-SQL skills, with familiarity across Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL. We support a remote or hybrid work model from our Morrisville, NC base, with competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 3+ years database administration or equivalent experience
• Hands-on with Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or higher
• Strong T-SQL skills including complex queries and stored procedures
• Working knowledge of database backup, recovery, and HADR concepts
• Experience with cloud database services in Azure (Azure SQL MI/DB/VMs)
• Database security administration (user management, roles, access controls)
• Ability to build and maintain SQL scripts and indexes
• Familiarity with Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL
• Experience with monitoring tools such as SSMS, Grafana, ETL tooling (SSIS)
• Education in Computer Science, IT, or related field; work experience can substitute

Responsibilities

• Own, track, and resolve database incidents and requests
• Monitor and maintain database health via backups and maintenance jobs
• Support performance and security requirements
• Investigate and resolve database incidents and deadlocks
• Refresh development/test databases for QA and development teams
• Assist in building and maintaining database monitoring infrastructure
• Support code deployments and schema design with Architecture
• Perform feasibility studies and effort estimates for new systems
• Install, upgrade, and maintain database instances for development, testing, production
• Collaborate with multiple departments to implement and maintain database code
