Job summary

RegEd is seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) to provide operational and application database services. You will own incidents, monitor health, and ensure performance and security for on‑premise and cloud environments.

Responsibilities include maintaining database objects, backups, security, and coordinating with QA, Development, and Infrastructure. The role emphasizes self-direction, time management, and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of database administration, development, or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or higher.
• Strong T-SQL skills including complex queries, stored procedures, transaction management, error handling, and dynamic SQL.
• Working knowledge of database backup, recovery, and high availability concepts.
• Familiarity with cloud database services in Azure such as Azure SQL MI/DB/VMs.
• Experience with database security administration and access controls.
• Ability to create and maintain SQL scripts, indexes, and complex queries.
• Understanding of OLTP databases and best practices for performance.
• Familiarity with SSIS/ETL and SSRS reporting tools.
• Experience with monitoring dashboards (SSMS, Grafana) and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Own, track, and resolve database-related incidents and requests.
• Monitor and maintain database health through backups and maintenance jobs.
• Support performance and security requirements for databases.
• Design, create, and maintain database objects in on-premise and cloud environments.
• Participate in investigation and resolution of database incidents and deadlocks.
• Assist in building and maintaining database monitoring infrastructure for alerting and visibility.
• Support code deployments and work with Architecture on coding standards.
