Job summary

RegEd is seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) to own operational database services across on-premise and cloud environments. You will monitor health, backups, security, and performance, resolve incidents, and collaborate with Architecture, QA, and Infra teams to improve data systems.

The role requires strong T-SQL, SQL Server 2016+, and experience with SSIS/SSRS and Azure SQL services; remote or hybrid work options are available with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of database administration, development, or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or higher.
• Strong T-SQL skills including complex queries, stored procedures, transaction management, error handling, and dynamic SQL.
• Working knowledge of database backup, recovery, and high availability/disaster recovery concepts.
• Familiarity with cloud database services in Azure (SQL MI/SQL DB/SQL on VMs).
• Experience with database security administration and access controls.
• Ability to write and optimize SQL scripts for analysis and operations.
• Familiarity with monitoring dashboards and data visualization tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain database objects (indexes, views, stored procedures, tables) in on-prem and cloud environments.
• Monitor and maintain database health, backups, maintenance jobs, and security.
• Manage database access, roles, and privileges; support compliance requirements.
• Verify backup success and perform restore testing; participate in DR planning.
• Investigate and resolve database incidents, including deadlocks and performance issues.
• Refresh development/test environments and support QA and development teams.
• Contribute to monitoring infrastructure for alerting and performance data collection.
• Assist in deployment of database changes and coding standards with Architecture team.
