Job summary

VSP Vision is seeking an Optical Associate/Optician to attract and retain customers through exceptional service and a strong sales focus. You will develop professional relationships with colleagues and doctors, fill prescriptions, and ensure accurate measurements and pricing.

The role emphasizes customer care and driving store sales through effective retail skills. Minimum 1–2 years of related experience, licensure per state, and a proven ability to meet/exceed customer expectations are

Qualifications

• Applicable State licensure or certification by a nationally recognized optician association as an optician.
• Ability to sell through use of sales skills and accountability for sales results.
• Experience and results with a retail or customer service establishment.
• Ability to provide enthusiastic and concise communication to meet/exceed customer expectations as well as foster positive and results-oriented associate, doctor, and host relationships.
• Success in store merchandising and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Fill ophthalmic eyeglass prescriptions and fit and adapt lenses and frames.
• Evaluate prescriptions in conjunction with customer's visual requirements and select lenses accordingly.
• Assist customers in selecting frames and coordinate frames with measurements and prescription.
• Take measurements (bridge, eye size, temple length, vertex distance, PD, optical centers) using appropriate tools.
• Ensure accurate pricing and realistic delivery quotes while driving store sales.
