Job summary

IKS Health seeks a Full Time Profee & Facility Ophthalmology Medical Coder to join our remote coding team. You will code physician and facility records using ICD-10-CM, CPS, and CPT, ensuring accurate DRG assignments and timely chart abstraction.

Qualified candidates have at least 3 years of ophthalmology coding experience, CPC/COC/CIC/CCS or RHIT/RHIA credentials, and strong communication skills. We offer a competitive hourly wage and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• CPC, COC, CIC, CCA, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT or RHIA credentials required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Minimum 3 years of related coding experience.
• Ability to code Clinic E/M and CPTs.
• Experience coding both profee-PB and facility ophthalmology charts.

Responsibilities

• Provide coding and abstracting for physician and facility records using ICD-10-CM, CPS, and CPT.
• Assign diagnostic and procedural codes after thorough chart review.
• Participate in team education and coding rounds.
• Identify diagnoses/procedures per UHDDS; ensure proper DRG assignment.
• Enter codes real-time during shifts and seek coder guidance as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of Coding Clinic guidelines and official coding guidelines.
