Job summary

ScionHealth is seeking a Medical Coder to code diagnoses, procedures, and operations in patient records using ICD-10-CM and CPT guidelines. You will enter data into the automated system and ensure accuracy of codes for compliance.

Minimum three years of professional coding experience and current CPC certification preferred. This role offers remote work with periodic onsite presence at facilities or physician practices.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS codes as applicable to medical records.
• Ability to understand and code medical records accurately.
• Strong written and verbal communication; maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Code medical records using ICD-10-CM; enter coded information into automated systems.
• Assign final diagnostic codes for diagnoses and procedures per guidelines.
• Ensure necessary factors for CPT coding are present and diagnoses are properly documented.
• Abstract and retrieve medical data for evaluation and planning in care programs.
