Job summary

VMG Health is seeking a Director specializing in ophthalmology to join our Specialty Practice Management team, advising eye care practices and ASCs to improve operations, financial outcomes, patient access, and growth strategy.

Directors collaborate with physician owners, executive leaders, and PE-backed platforms to evaluate performance and implement strategies that drive success across patient flow, productivity, and service-line economics. The role is remote and highly autonomous.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of ophthalmology, optometry, eye care, or specialty physician practice management experience.
• Experience with independently owned ophthalmology practices, integrated platforms, or growth-stage organizations preferred.
• Strong understanding of ophthalmology practice financials, clinic operations, surgical coordination, and provider productivity.
• Ability to communicate effectively with physician owners and executive leaders.

Responsibilities

• Grow independent ophthalmology practices, eye care groups, and multi-location platforms.
• Provide practice management support to ophthalmology and ASC leadership teams.
• Develop organizational structure and leadership development initiatives.
• Improve clinic operations, patient flow, scheduling, referrals, and performance.
• Coordinate projects and initiatives aligned with VMG Health objectives.
• Deliver compelling presentations at industry meetings and webinars.
