Job summary

CEVA Logistics in Atlanta, GA is seeking an Operations Supervisor I to oversee transportation and customs processes, ensuring accurate shipment documentation and compliant handling of imported/exported products.

You will lead a team, develop customer service standards, monitor performance, coordinate staff training, and collaborate with the operations manager to meet deadlines and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED, Minimum four years related experience.
• Minimum one year supervisory experience; Bachelor's Degree in International Business, Logistics or related discipline preferred or equivalent.
• Three years of industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers at all times.
• Provide responsible supervision and control for all departmental activities; assist in retention and training of staff and customers; conduct staff meetings and address performance issues per policies.
• Oversee performance statistics; review shipment documentation for accuracy; ensure compliance with regulations governing import/export documents.
• Compute duties, tariffs, price conversions, weight and volume; communicate with customs officials to obtain release of freight and resolve delays.
• Establish and monitor policies and service standards for customs clearance operations; ensure consistent administration.
• Identify areas of concern in import/export processes through audits and client reviews.
• Communicate with operations manager regarding progress; maintain flexible schedule including after hours on-call rotation.
• Participate in or supervise department projects related to area of responsibility.
