Job summary

Maritz is seeking an Operations Manager, Event Management (SMM) to lead coordination of face-to-face, digital and hybrid programs, ensuring operational excellence across all program operations and alignment with client needs, objectives, and quality standards.

You will manage a team, drive labor and budgeting efficiency, nurture client and colleague relationships, and support new initiatives, onboarding, and invoicing approvals, with travel up to 20%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years in Meeting/Events and/or Incentive Travel pre/post-sale activities.
• 1–2 years of supervisory/leadership experience.
• Strong organization and communication skills.
• Experience with budgets and travel industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide mentorship and coaching to the team for all areas of event management across all markets and event types.
• Coordinates and facilitates regular team meetings and communications; identifies training opportunities and ongoing performance coaching.
• Identify opportunities for ROIs; responsible for accurate labor, time tracking and T&E within the team.
• Provides ongoing coaching and regular development conversations; ensures timely T&E expense reporting.
• Assists in development and implementation of initiatives to address business goals.
• Provides expertise regarding destination, hotel and internal services; monitors SLA adherence; interacts with client stakeholders.
• Supports new initiatives and processes; onboarding and invoicing approvals.
• Act as the Meeting Event Management support for programs; project & experience management and relationship management.
• Ensures adherence to workflow processes and client SOPs.
• Balances workload of event management projects and people management.
• Oversees target accounts for operational consistency and client deliverables.
