Job summary

Merck is seeking an Oncology Sales Representative to grow our oncology footprint in the Shreveport, LA region. You will engage with customers to address needs, educate stakeholders about Merck’s oncology portfolio, and strive to meet or exceed sales goals within your territory.

You will travel to visit customers, attend national sales meetings, and coordinate with the oncology team to develop territory strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years of sales experience OR a minimum of high school diploma with at least 8 years of equivalent experience.
• Healthcare/scientific field experience strongly preferred (oncology related)
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive
• Travel 10-15% overnight
• Residence near the district

Responsibilities

• Attain or exceed assigned sales goals for the geography.
• Collaborate with territory counterparts to ensure seamless customer experience and build relationships.
• Communicate a patient-centered rationale for oncology products in indicated uses.
• Understand tumor types, treatment pathways, and guidelines affecting patients.
• Analyze trends in a complex buying environment across multiple distribution channels.
• Develop short- and long-term plans with local team and district manager.
