Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; oncology coding preferred.
• 5+ years medical coding experience; oncology CPT/ICD coding preferred.
• Experience with Centricity EMR and oncology documentation.
• Must stay current with CPT and ICD-9/ICD10 updates annually.

Responsibilities

• Code general surgery procedures and diagnoses for medical records and billing.
• Ensure charts are coded and billed daily with proper documentation.
• Review records to confirm dictations and documentation compliance.
• Enter all billable charges into the billing system accurately.
• Escalate documentation trends to management for review.
