Qualifications

  • Three years of technical oil/gas industry experience in well design, drilling, completion, production, plugging, or underground storage operations.
  • An associate's degree in Petroleum Technology or closely related field, and one year of technical experience in oil or natural gas operations.

Responsibilities

  • Field inspections: Conduct routine inspections of oil and gas wells and related facilities to confirm compliance with laws and regulations
  • Complaint response: Investigate citizen complaints related to environmental or safety concerns and document findings through established reporting methods
  • Enforcement actions: Initiate and support enforcement measures by issuing notices, preparing case materials, and assisting in legal proceedings
  • Technical review: Evaluate well records, reports, and logs to provide recommendations and ensure accurate interpretation of technical information
  • Sampling and monitoring: Collect samples, operate gas detection instruments, and document data to support investigations and safety assessments
  • Record management: Maintain accurate electronic records, case files, photographs, and other documentation to support compliance and enforcement work
