Job summary

Stormont Vail HealthCare, Inc. in Topeka, KS, is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist to plan and administer treatments for patients with neurological, musculoskeletal, sensory, and cardio-respiratory conditions.

You will focus on restoring function and improving ADLs, while educating patients and families. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy, and NBCOT/KSBHA licensure is preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
• Ability to respond to inquiries from customers, regulatory agencies, or business community.
• Ability to interpret and present information for top management and boards.

Responsibilities

• Completes Evaluations to assess ROM, strength, motor planning, coordination, balance, sensory processing, endurance, and ADL status.
• Establishes and provides appropriate treatment methods to enhance physical and emotional well-being toward goal achievement.
• Reviews physician referrals and records to determine the most appropriate treatment.
• Fabricates upper extremity splints/orthotic devices or adaptive equipment to maximize independence in ADLs.
• Consults with other healthcare team members to coordinate with other medical interventions.
• Provides physical agent modalities as appropriate to diagnoses and educates patients and families on OT techniques.
