Job summary

Qualifications

• Master's or higher degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Active Occupational Therapist license in Kansas.
• 1 year of SNF or related setting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of OT principles and modalities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial evaluations and ongoing assessments to determine residents' functional abilities and needs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evaluations and goals.
• Provide therapeutic interventions, exercises, and activities to improve functional abilities.
• Monitor and document residents' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Collaborate with physical therapists, speech therapists, and nurses for integrated care.

Job Description:

We are seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist to join our team on a contract basis. As an Occupational Therapist, you will work with our residents to help them regain and maintain their functional abilities through therapeutic activities and interventions. You will also collaborate with our interdisciplinary team to develop individualized treatment plans and provide ongoing support and education to our residents and their families.

Responsibilities:

• - Conduct initial evaluations and ongoing assessments to determine residents' functional abilities and needs


• - Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evaluations and goals set by the resident and their healthcare team


• - Provide therapeutic interventions, exercises, and activities to help residents improve their functional abilities and achieve their treatment goals


• - Monitor and document residents' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed


• - Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physical therapists, speech therapists, and nurses, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for residents


• - Educate residents and their families on adaptive techniques and equipment to promote independence and safety


• - Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all treatment sessions and progress reports


• - Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of resident care plans


• - Comply with all federal, state, and facility regulations and guidelines

Qualifications:

• - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program


• - Active Occupational Therapist license in the state of Kansas


• - Minimum of 1 year of experience in a skilled nursing facility or related setting preferred


• - Strong knowledge of occupational therapy principles, techniques, and modalities


• - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


• - Ability to work independently and as part of a team


• - Basic computer skills and knowledge of electronic medical records systems


• - Current CPR certification
