Job summary

Stormont Vail HealthCare, Inc. is seeking an Occupational Therapist to plan and administer therapy for patients with neurological, musculoskeletal, sensory, respiratory, and cardiac conditions. You will work to restore function, relieve pain, and educate patients and families to support ADLs.

The role involves evaluating range of motion, strength, and cognitive status, fabricating splints, and collaborating with the health care team to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy (OT) required.
• NBCOT preferred; BLS to be completed within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Completes evaluations to assess ROM, strength, motor planning, coordination, balance, sensory processing, endurance, cognitive status, and ADL status.
• Establishes and provides appropriate treatment methods to enhance physical and emotional well-being toward goal achievement.
• Reviews physician referrals and patient records to determine the most appropriate treatment plan.
• Fabrication of custom upper extremity splints/orthotic devices.
• Fabrication or exploration of adaptive equipment to increase independence in ADLs.
• Educates patient, family, and staff in OT techniques and home programs.
• Gathers materials, maintains supplies, and documents treatment progress in the patient chart.
