Job summary

Signature Performance seeks an Observation Medical Coder to work remotely nationwide. You will apply ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT/HCPCS coding rules to medical records, review documentation, and assign accurate codes for reimbursement.

The role requires at least 2 years of medical coding experience, familiarity with EHR systems, and professional certifications such as RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CCS-P or CPC. You will collaborate with teams and ensure coding quality and compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Medical Coding experience.
• Experience with Professional Fee Coding.
• Experience with EHR systems.
• Certification options include RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CCS-P, CPC.

Responsibilities

• Assign principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures by reviewing documentation.
• Review discharge summaries, notes, radiology, labs and operative reports to code accurately.
• Ensure correct code selection following guidelines and regulations.
• Determine diagnoses and procedures to assign DRG/APC for reimbursement.
• Review coding for accuracy before submission to billing.
• Abstract data from records and correct errors in system entries.
• Identify missing documentation and query physicians as needed.
• Meet coding quality and quantity expectations.
