Job summary

Signature Performance is seeking an Observation Medical Coder for a remote/nationwide role. You will assign principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures from medical records, adhering to coding guidelines to ensure accurate reimbursement.

The position requires at least 2 years of medical coding experience, proficiency with E/M coding, CPT, ICD-10-CM/PCS, and HCPCS, and familiarity with multiple payer rules. We offer comprehensive benefits and a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Medical Coding experience.
• Experience with Professional Fee Coding.
• Experience with EHR systems.
• Certifications from AHIMA or AAPC include RHIT, RHIA, CCA, CCS, CCS-P, CPC.

Responsibilities

• Assign principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures from medical records.
• Review discharge summaries, progress notes, labs, radiology to assign codes.
• Ensure codes follow Official Coding Guidelines and regulations.
• Determine diagnoses and procedures to assign DRG/APC for reimbursement.
• Review coding accuracy before submission to billing.
• Abstract data from medical records and correct errors.
• Identify incomplete documentation and request clarifications.
