Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking a full-time, remote OBGYN Medical Coder to provide coding and abstraction services for inpatient, outpatient, and clinic visits using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 data sets while ensuring compliance with established coding principles.

The candidate will review medical records, abstract information per client guidelines, and resolve ambiguities with physicians. They will mentor and train new coders, keeping up to date with coding guidelines.

Qualifications

• Coding certification required (CPC, COC, CIC, CCA, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT, or RHIA).
• At least 3 years of professional fee and facility coding experience, particularly in OB/GYN Clinic & Surgery.
• Proficiency in Clinic E&M coding and CPTs; familiarity with ICD-10-CM and CPT-4.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records to identify relevant diagnoses and procedures for coding.
• Abstract information from medical records based on client guidelines and resolve ambiguities with physicians.
• Mentor and provide training to new coders while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines.
