Job summary

North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) seeks a Nurse Consultant I to conduct licensure and certification surveys for Home Care, Home Health, and Hospice agencies. The role includes on-site and office review, preparing deficiency reports and communicating regulatory interpretations to providers.

The position is home-based within the Wake/Central Region, covering Wake, Alamance, Guilford, Forsyth, Orange, and surrounding counties; requires NC RN licensure and at least one

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina with one year of experience in home care, home health or hospice.
• Experience using a computer and MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site surveys to ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations for home care, home health and hospice.
• Review deficiency reports and Plans of Correction.
• Provide information to the public, providers and prospective providers on licensure processes.
• Intake complaints and concerns for investigation; respond to information requests.
• Meet with health care associations and professional groups to discuss licensure and inspection goals.
