Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Division of Health Service Regulation seeks a Nurse Consultant I (NS) to conduct licensure and certification surveys for home care, home health, and hospice agencies.

This is a home-based position serving Nash, Edgecombe, Greene, Wilson, Johnston, Rockingham, Caswell and surrounding counties, with responsibilities including on-site surveys, deficiency reports, and coordination with providers.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina with at least one year of experience in the area of specialization.
• Nursing experience in home care, home health, or hospice.
• Proficient with MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site standard and/or complaint surveys to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Prepare deficiency reports documenting non-compliance with licensure and certification standards.
• Review Plans of Correction submitted by providers in response to cited deficiencies.
• Provide clarification and information to the public, providers and agencies on the licensure process and requirements.
• Intake complaints and concerns from the public for investigation.
• Engage with interest groups to discuss licensure and inspection goals.
