Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) seeks a Nurse Consultant I to perform regulatory surveys of nursing facilities and prepare formal reports. This home-based role services Cabarrus, Rowan, Davidson, Mecklenburg, Stanly and Union counties, with travel to facilities for inspections and overnight stays as needed.

Applicants must hold an active NC RN license and have at least one year of experience in the field.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated skills in communicating effectively.
• Ability to compose technical reports using good grammar.
• Strong clinical background, including assessment, care planning and delivery of care.

Responsibilities

• Surveying nursing homes during routine surveys and complaint investigations.
• Completing survey reports, including statements of deficiency and complaint allegation findings.
