Job summary

TerraPower LLC is seeking a Nuclear Physical Security Engineer to join our remote-based team with options in Rockville, MD or Bellevue, WA. You will support physical security program licensing, design, and regulatory compliance, interfacing with the NRC to ensure regulatory requirements are met.

You will develop AA/FFD programs, create supporting documentation, and train staff on security processes while coordinating with design and engineering teams across sites.

Qualifications

• Associate degree and 15 years nuclear security experience.
• Knowledge of US NRC 10 CFR regulations and guidance.
• Experience developing security programs for new plants or operating facilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for regulatory work.
• Self-starter with ability to meet deadlines with minimal direction.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensing actions for Physical Security Programs.
• Support design, construction, and implementation of physical protection systems.
• Develop security life cycle documents and regulatory plans.
• Prepare licensing documents and interact with the NRC.
• Serve as SME for Access Authorization (AA) and Fitness For Duty (FFD).
• Provide training and communications on AA/FFD and related topics.
• Promote a culture of safety, high performance and team collaboration.
• Coordinate with TerraPower teams, partners and contractors.
