Job summary

Actalent seeks a Nuclear Safety Analyst to perform advanced reactor safety analyses and modeling. You will apply RELAP5-3D, TRACE, and related tools to assess core behavior, safety margins, and licensing implications in a fully remote setting.

You will document methodologies and results, produce technical reports, and present findings to internal teams and external stakeholders while contributing to R&D and customer-funded projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s in Nuclear or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years in nuclear field or closely related engineering work.
• Experience with RELAP5 and TRACE for nuclear safety analysis.
• Ability to document methodologies and present findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Perform nuclear safety and engineering analyses for advanced reactors and nuclear systems.
• Model reactor and system thermal-hydraulic behavior under various operating and safety conditions.
• Analyze heat transfer and fluid behavior in nuclear systems; assess core and safety-system performance.
• Use RELAP5-3D, TRACE, MCNP, and other tools to simulate reactor response.
• Prepare technical reports and white papers detailing approaches, results, and implications.
• Develop presentations and communicate findings to internal teams and customers.
