Job summary

Your Part-Time Controller, LLC (YPTC) is seeking a dedicated Controller for nonprofit organizations to guide clients' accounting and reporting. The role supports multiple clients, both virtually and on-site, in a hybrid Denver environment.

You will oversee transactions, budgeting, grants, audits, and board interactions; the company offers Best Place to Work awards, strong benefits, a 35-hour week, paid time off, holidays, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Accounting or Finance.
• 5–7+ years accounting experience.
• Experience in remote environment preferred.
• Ability to manage and lead multiple clients, work independently and be responsive.
• Demonstrated strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with multiple GL packages, especially QuickBooks; CPA is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Transform nonprofit client financial departments to support mission.
• Prepare financial reporting for management and Board decisions.
• Recommend and implement improvements to accounting, internal controls, and policies.
• Handle A/P, A/R, payroll, reconciliations, month-end close.
• Conduct budgeting/forecasting, grant management and funder reporting.
• Prepare for and manage annual audits; staff training opportunities.
