Job summary

The Veritas Forum, Inc. is seeking a Part‑Time Manager, Accounting to oversee our outsourced accounting firm. This oversight role ensures bookkeeping, AP/AR, and reconciliations are accurate, timely, and aligned with policy.

You will review work, enforce controls, and coordinate with the Senior Director of Finance. The position offers a remote schedule of 15–20 hours per week with flexible hours. Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of accounting experience, familiarity with nonprofit GAAP,

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, AP/AR, and reconciliations.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Excel/Google Sheets.
• Understanding of GAAP and nonprofit fund accounting.
• Discretion with confidential financial information.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversight of outsourced accounting firm and day-to-day liaison.
• Review and approve transactions, invoices, and payments.
• Monitor accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of books and reconciliations.
• Review monthly statements and reconciliations prepared by the firm.
• Enforce internal controls and approval workflows.
• Manage scope, deliverables, and deadlines with the outsourced firm.
• Review month-end/year-end close packages and financial reports.
• Oversee funds tracking in line with nonprofit practices.
• Coordinate documentation for annual audit and tax filings.
