Job summary

NonProfit Fiscal Management LLC (NPFM) is seeking an Accountant to manage the day‑to‑day financial operations for a portfolio of nonprofit clients on a fully remote basis. You will lead monthly closes, prepare financial statements and funder reports, track restricted funding, and support audit and 990/1099 processes with accuracy and clear client communication.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, have 4+ years nonprofit accounting experience, and are proficient

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• At least four years nonprofit accounting experience.
• Ability to manage monthly financial operations for multiple clients.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Thrives in a fully remote environment; highly organized.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly and quarterly close processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.
• Prepare financial statements and funder-specific reports.
• Track restricted funding and grant allocations.
• Review payroll, accounts payable data entered by client or staff.
• Manage annual audit, 990, and 1099 preparation.
• Work with team to strengthen systems and address issues.
