Job summary

Sentara Health is hiring a full-time Licensed Behavioral Health Therapist to join the Psychiatric Emergency Response (PERS) team. The role assesses patients in emergency departments with behavioral health concerns and provides treatment recommendations. Overnight, fully remote work is required.

Requires Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or related field and Virginia LPC or LCSW licensure. At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred, with strong clinical and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or related field.
• Virginia LPC or LCSW licensure required.
• Minimum 1 year of outpatient or inpatient experience preferred.
• Crisis intervention experience preferred.
• Excellent clinical, documentation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess social, psychological, cultural, environmental, and financial needs of each patient.
• Collaborate with patients, families, healthcare team, and community agencies to plan care.
• Evaluate effectiveness of plans and initiate changes as needed.
