Job summary

Sentara Health is hiring a full-time Licensed Behavioral Health Therapist to join the Psychiatric Emergency Response (PERS) team. You will assess patients in the Emergency Department with behavioral/mental health needs and provide treatment recommendations.

The role works overnight hours and is fully remote, based in Virginia Beach, VA. Requires a Master’s in Social Work or Counseling and Virginia LPC or LCSW licensure. We offer base pay plus incentives and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field (Required)
• Virginia Licensure: LPC or LCSW (Required)
• At least 1 year of outpatient or inpatient experience (Preferred)
• Crisis experience (Preferred)
• Excellent clinical skills, documentation, and communication skills (Required)

Responsibilities

• Assesses the social, psychological, cultural, environmental, and financial situation, as well as disposition needs, for each assigned patient.
• Collaborates with patients, families, healthcare team members, and community agencies to develop and implement plans to address identified needs.
• Evaluates effectiveness of developed plans and initiates change as needed.
