Job summary

Sentara Health is hiring a full-time Licensed Behavioral Health Therapist to join the Psychiatric Emergency Response team. The role involves assessing patients with behavioral/mental health concerns in the ED and making treatment recommendations. This position works overnight and is fully remote.

Requires a Master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling and Virginia LPC or LCSW licensure. At least 1 year of relevant experience is preferred; crisis experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field required.
• Virginia LPC or LCSW licensure required.
• At least 1 year of outpatient or inpatient experience preferred.
• Crisis experience and strong clinical documentation are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess social, psychological, cultural, environmental, and financial needs for each patient.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to plan care.
• Evaluate and adjust plans based on effectiveness and needs.
