Job summary

Sentara Health is hiring a full-time Licensed Behavioral Health Therapist to join the Psychiatric Emergency Response (PERS) team. You will assess patients with behavioral/mental health concerns in the emergency department and provide treatment recommendations. The role operates overnight hours and is fully remote.

Required: Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field, and Virginia LPC or LCSW. Experience preferred includes 1 year in outpatient/inpatient settings and crisis care.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field is required.
• Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Virginia required.
• Minimum 1 year of outpatient or inpatient experience preferred; crisis experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess the social, psychological, cultural, environmental, and financial needs and disposition for each patient.
• Collaborate with patients, families, healthcare team members, and community agencies to develop and implement plans.
• Evaluate effectiveness of plans and initiate changes as needed.
