Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an NCR POS Subject Matter Expert to support and optimize point-of-sale, payment, and fuel systems for large-scale retail operations. You will join the Retail Technology Support team and collaborate with service desk, infrastructure, vendor partners, and business stakeholders to ensure system stability and rapid issue resolution.

In this remote US-based role, you will own incident, problem, and backlog management, develop automation, and drive continuous service improvement

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in IT, CS, engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on experience supporting NCR POS platforms (Retalix R10, Radiant, CX7, 770x).
• Experience supporting retail payment and fuel forecourt technologies.
• Proficiency in log analysis using POS logs, Fuel PC logs, Windows Event Viewer, and diagnostics.
• Experience with ITIL-based incident, problem, and service management processes.
• Experience with ticketing/workflow tools like ServiceNow and Jira.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across multiple teams.
• Ability to manage escalations and drive resolution.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced support for NCR POS platforms to ensure high availability and performance.
• Troubleshoot POS, payment, and fuel system issues by analyzing logs and events to identify root causes.
• Support fuel and forecourt systems including site controllers and dispenser integrations.
• Own incident, problem, and backlog management with internal teams and vendors.
• Develop automation and self-healing solutions to reduce recurring incidents.
