Job summary

Advance Peace is seeking a National Training Director to lead the development and delivery of CVI training programs. This role will build national training infrastructure, curricula, certification standards, and trainer networks while serving as the organization's Senior Trainer.

The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in violence interruption, crisis response, and training program development, with the credibility to represent Advance Peace among CVI leaders nationally.

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of experience in violence interruption/crisis response.
  • 3–5 years of experience in CVI program development, leadership, and training.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Certifications in Anger Management, Conflict Resolution, Conflict De-Escalation, Trauma Response, or Crisis Response are a plus.
  • Experience in personnel management, with demonstrated effectiveness leading teams.
  • Expertise designing, delivering, and evaluating learner-centered, performance-based training for CVI staff and organizations.
  • Strong understanding of the core competencies required of CVI workforce professionals.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across diverse stakeholders and audiences.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems, virtual training tools, and online training platforms.
  • Budget management skills to plan and allocate resources for training initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and lead Advance Peace's national CVI training platform, certification academies, and standards and operating protocols.
  • Serve as Advance Peace's Senior Trainer, delivering in-person and virtual training and technical assistance nationally, and incorporating feedback for continuous program enhancement.
  • Design, develop, implement, and instruct Advance Peace Leadership Institutes, Neighborhood Change Agent Bootcamps, the Advance Peace FORUM, and other learning initiatives.
  • Develop training assessment and evaluation tools to measure impact and drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage and supervise National Strategy Specialists and National Fellow Ambassadors; provide ongoing training and development for national training staff.
  • Function as a subject matter expert, coordinating a network of SME trainers and managing all aspects of technical assistance delivery.
  • Represent Advance Peace as a thought leader at national conferences, forums, and with CVI field partners — strengthening relationships across the broader CVI ecosystem.
  • Manage training budgets and resources to ensure effective, timely program delivery.
  • Collaborate with the Advance Peace Executive Team on organizational strategy and training priorities.
